It Was a Gobble-Gobble Kind of Day
I do not know anyone else, but I really enjoy Thanksgiving Day. Not only because of the turkey in which my mistress is grooming in Parsonage, though I can not think of any other reason.
Of course, there is the idea of family reunion. I enjoy it all the time. I like to hear stories and learn about the latest events related to my family.
I remember a good years ago Uncle Uncle Bud was my favorite. He can tell an incredible story so much that you end up believing it.
Even today, I can remember some of the stories he was going to tell and I can now see that he was overstating her. I think it is in our family.
Therefore, it is wonderful to meet with the family and to learn about the latest events in our family.
However, when it comes to Thanksgiving, my focus is on wonderful food. Everyone in the family is bringing a special dish to share with others. Some of them are good at bread pancakes, others are prepared in vegetable dishes (although we were not allowed this year to use lettuce), others are in heat bowls and a great variety of other tasty dishes.
Here's what I like about a good old family reunion on Thanksgiving. No matter what the gentle mistress in Parsonage told me, I feel compelled to eat every dish attended by a family member. After all, I certainly do not want to embarrass or avoid anyone.
The best thing about it is that I need to have seconds, three times and sometimes more. After all, I do not want to offend anyone in my family.
I'm not sure, but I think everyone brought a pancake. There were so many different pancakes on the table that I could not choose which ones I wanted. So, being a wonderful family person who I am, I took a slice of each of them.
My thinking is simple, if the Thanksgiving dinner was brought and the food was brought by the family there is no calories associated with it. This is my story, I stick to it!
Although everything was fairly tasty, I must say that Turkey was wonderful. As you know, my wife prepared those turkeys.
The preparation for Turkey Thanksgiving Day began somewhere in August. There were some turkeys on sale and I took them as far as possible. After all, she wanted to make sure she had enough turkey for all. According to her, it is against family rules to leave family dinner without taking the leftovers with you.
To prepare for this, Turkey had to be huge. This means two and maybe three of the turkeys to be prepared. It took her days to cook a turkey. Due to the lack of imagination in the art of cooking, I am not sure how to cook or how long it took to cook. All I know is, the smell of the kitchen is delicious for several weeks.
Please, do not let this come out. But she had one turkey dummy placed and put on the shelf to cool a little before putting it in the fridge. I looked at him. I thought she looked back at me. I looked at him again and reached the point of resistance. After all, why should I fight with Turkey?
Very carefully, I cut pieces of turkeys so I thought no one would notice, and then moved away from chewing the tasty turkeys. My problem was that Turkey was very delicious and I was very hungry. I went back several times and cut just a little so no one noticed. Nobody was what I did not want to notice, of course, my wife.
I came across a bit of a turkey when the wife came into the room and asked the question that always asked me, "What do you eat?"
I said hesitantly: "Oh, I just chew a little of the meat I find in the fridge." I thought that would solve the problem and for some time it looked like it was.
I sat on my chair when she said, looking to Turkey, "Did you eat a piece of turkey to eat?"
When you discover it, you discover it. Trust me, I've found out.
Not all lying in the world can get me out of this impasse.
I thought I had reached the end. I was caught with Turkey in my mouth. I was sure I was in some deep problems.
Then she said something that surprised me completely. "How was Turkey? Was it any good?"
I liked to take advantage of the positions.
With a smile, she turned and walked away. How I got rid of it, I'll have to think for a few days.
When I thought about my situation, I thought of a verse in Proverbs. "Man hath joy of the answer of his mouth: the word spoken in the appropriate season, how good!" (Proverbs 15:23).
