Challenges of Modern Parenting
Families are the blocks of society and parenting is a blessed privilege but also a serious responsibility. In today's world, consumer-oriented, lawless and sexually allowed, parenting has become a challenge. Over-exposure to audio-visual media from an early age coupled with ineffective parenting has made children self-indulgent and self-indulgent and seeking instant gratification. They are given to motivated behavior and are easily frustrated.
Since the family is a training ground for preparing children to take their place in society as responsible adults, parents need to periodically evaluate their working methods. They must have a gradual view of adherence to the values of the ancient world. The principles of child education change as the world changes, and parents' roles will change as the child develops. From specialists grow to mentors and friends. It is good to bear it in the middle of the biblical example -
"Training the child the way he should go and when he is old, he will not turn away from it." Proverbs 22: 6.
No one can boast of being an ideal father. Through trial and error, one learns the best way to formulate a child's personality, depending on his personality. Love, patience and negotiation skills form the basis of good parenting. The goal should be to teach respect, responsibility and resourcefulness.
Parental love instinctively must be unconditional. It is best expressed in the way that the child is cared for. Patients should not be ashamed of showing feelings. The child never grows up on his bosom. Open affection between husband and wife is the most reassuring of the child. He will have confidence that he is safe and secure in their love and that they are always available to guide him. Good communication between parent and child makes for bonding. Only when there is a sound relationship between them can instill discipline.
"Discipline is one of the most loving and solid gifts that a father can give a child," says Guarandi. The child needs limits and teaches discipline respect for power. Obedience must be expected at all times. Praise for good behavior is important. But should also be taught to accept "no" to get an answer. Provides discipline structure for emotional and social growth. Learn how to live according to the rules of family ethics and develop self-confidence and responsibility for his actions. However, discipline must be consistent. The correction must be made in a positive manner and not by punitive measures. One has to be nice but firm in applying rules. The child should know that discipline is like "a crown of his head and a chain to decorate his neck." (Proverbs 1: 7-9)
Hyperthyroidism and molluscs can impede the child's personality. He will steal his skills in problem solving. It will destroy the impulse and make it lazy. There are many reasons why parents are more lenient. Both parents may feel guilty about not spending enough time with their child. May be absolute and compensated by giving him a lot of freedoms. They may be anxious parents who want to protect their children excessively. So they give their whims and demands. Some parents find a way to meet their own needs through their child. The parents of the helicopters do not allow their children to grow and make their own decisions.
Lax parents on the other hand, let their child do what he pleases. They are non-directed and unclaimed. Anything the child does is fine with them. Parents are trapped in their lives so that they do not have time to play an active role in the lives of their children. Such a child is insecure and lacks direction. He knows that his parents will not be bothered by what he does. There are no guidelines or limits. Such a child confused, takes the wrong choices, drifting to the deviation.
At the other end, there are trusted parents who control freaks and impose strict rules that must be followed. They criticize everything the child does. They destroy his self-esteem by making derogatory remarks. There is no word of praise ever. Threats and punitive actions committed because of minor errors. As a result, the child becomes a neurosis, living under a cloud of fear. But as an adult may develop an anti-social character that leads to the use of repeated brushes with the law.
Because "the children are the inheritance of the Lord" (Psalm 127: 3) the patriarchal authority must be unified and consistent. Parents can not make contradictory demands. They must be good role models and the home should provide a loving, caring and stimulating environment. They must speak freely about their faith and their relationship to God. Immoral values must be instilled in the child. "The method of raising a moral child is to be a moral person," says David Elkand.
